General Mikhail T. Kalashnikov - Honorary Chairman

General Kalashnikov (aged 84) entered the Red Army in 1938 and served as a tank commander in the Second World War, until wounded in October 1941. He became a designer and developed a number of rifle and submachine gun models. In 1947 he created the ?7.62 Avtomat systemy Kalashnikova obrazetz 1947 goda?, known to the world as the AK-47. For this he was awarded the Stalin Prize, First Class, and in 1958 was made a Hero of Socialist Labour. He later developed the AK-74 assault rifle, for which in 1976 he was awarded a Gold Star of the Hammer and Sickle and the Order of Lenin.

General Kalashnikov continues to design weapons at the Izhmash plant in Izhevsk, where he has lived since 1949. He is an Honorary Professor at numerous universities and academies.

John C Florey - Managing Director

John Florey (aged 41) has undertaken new ventures and projects around the world, having left Grimley J R Eve property consultants as a planning and development consultant (1990-1992) to work in Malaysia and Singapore (1993-1995) as a Corporate Strategist. On his return to the UK, John went on to develop a residential property management firm in central London. In 1996, he took over London Educational Services Ltd and created a specialist international business development consultancy for UK universities and business schools and was instrumental in developing Moscow Business School (MIRBIS). In 1999, he set up The London & Oriental Trading Company Ltd, which traded commodities as diverse as teak from Myanmar (Burma) to Hong Kong, consumer goods from India to West Africa, food products to the Balkans, as well as consultancy work ranging from arranging a U$50m revolving trade finance package with Standard Bank London for an Asian country’s trade ministry, implementing a private Re-insurance Treaty with the London Market & Azerbaijan, to generating over C$10 million worth of Canadian business for a UK internet company. John also acted as the London representative for Garry Kasparov, The Chess Grand Master, in brand licensing. (1999-2003). In 2003 John founded, with General Mikhail T Kalashnikov, The Kalashnikov Joint Stock Vodka Co. (1947) plc and was recently instrumental in founding The British-Russian Institute of Management (BRIM) for Executive Training at The Moscow Business School (MIRBIS).

John has been appointed an Honorary Professor at the Moscow Business School (MIRBIS) for services to Anglo-Russian relations and holds degrees in Law from London University, Land Economy from Cambridge University and an MBA, from The Tanaka Business School at Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine.

David Bromige - Branding & Creative Director

David Bromige was the designer and brand creator of Pölstar Vodka and was also a director of the company of that name. David is also a director of the Reformed Sprits Company Limited, which owns Miller?s Gin. Polstar Vodka, created in 1999, has been positioned as one of the fastest growing style bar premium vodkas in the UK and was recently sold to William Grant plc. Miller?s Gin, which was developed in 2001, was voted the No.1 Gin by the Beverage Tasting Institute of Chicago.

David is also the co-founder of The Drinks Consultancy, specialising in the development and extension of new drinks brands, which have included: Glen Ord, Classic Malts, Aberlour and Kronenbourg 1664. David also advises drinks industry clients such as Pernod Ricard, Bacardi Martini, Allied Domecq and Hayman.

Michael Davenhill - Finance Director

Michael Davenhill is a financial adviser and has, since 1990, had considerable experience of the development of start-up companies. He has been involved in businesses as diverse as rare metals from China in 1990, waste disposal (1992), engineering turbo compres sors (1996) and patented medical devices (1999).

Michael's career includes seven years with Unilever Limited (as it then was), ending as Head of the Overseas Section of Financial Group, and ten years as a controller within the Schlumberger Group. Michael has also held the position of Finance Director at J. Walter Thompson Group Ltd, DMB&B Group Ltd and Marshall Cavendish Ltd.

Jonathan Allen - Non-Executive Director

Jonathan Allen has recently joined the Board, bringing with him experience of working in international markets as an investment banker, as the Chief Executive of both a mining company and an Executive Search Company. He is currently acting as a Consultant to international companies in the field of Medical Health, Water Purification & Desalination and Mining. He has considerable experience of Corporate Finance and has advised a number of foreign companies on the regulatory requirements in respect of seeking admission to the AIM Market.

He served in the Armed Forces (Scots Guards) from 1964 to 1978, being awarded an MBE in 1974, when he was involved in intelligence in Northern Ireland. He was also mentioned in despatches and was awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal in 1977. He entered the City of London in 1978, joining Laing & Cruickshank and then set up his own mining company in 1983. This was subsequently sold to a larger Canadian mining company in 1989. From 1990 to 2004 he was involved in Executive Search and ran his own company, Harvey Glynne International as Chief Executive.

Since then he has been involved in Corporate activities, principally relating to the natural resources sector. His involvement in the "drinks industry" resulted from his family, who owned the Tomatin Whisky Distillery in Inverness, until it was purchased by Japanese shareholders in 1986.
